Translation Rates

A number of factors influence the price of a translation. This is why we ask you to send us all files for translation as soon as possible, in order to provide you with an exact quote, based on the factors mentioned below.

Word Count

All quotations for translations are based on the word count of the source language document. A minimum rate applies to shorter documents. A La French has separate rates for non-technical and technical texts.

Time Rate

Copywriting, editing, localisation, transcriptions and chaperoning are charged at an hourly rate. Interpreting is carried out at industry-standard hourly or daily rates.

Set Rates

A La French has set rates for voice-overs and for all types of material used by the advertising industry such as radio, television and press advertisements, video scripts, brochures, pamphlets, flyers, posters, press releases, advertorials, mailers, packaging, labels, slogans and pay-off lines.

Rush Orders

Whether or not a job qualifies as a rush order is determined at quotation stage based on the scope of the project and the deadline requirements as agreed upon by both parties. A rush order surcharge will be levied where applicable.
